Support for Virtue Online! Help Preserve Anglican Orthodoxy

As of late, most of my posts have been steadily been about politics, although this blog is supposed to cover - politics, culture and religion.  Peruse my archives and you'll see I've more to say on hundreds of topics which, without a doubt, are poorly categorized (perhaps a project to be tackled at a later date) but may be of some interest to new readers.

It won't surprise readers that not only has Connecticut been the base of operations for liberal politics (DeLauro, Dodd, Larson, Murphy, Malloy, etc) but its also been at the forefront of modern liberalization of the Anglican Church (the Diocese of Connecticut is a member of the World-Wide Anglican Communion which is led by Archbishop of Canterbury). The Archbishop's local stooges - Rt. Rev. Dr. Ian T. Douglas, assisted by two far left-wing lunatics - Bishops Suffragans, the Rt. Rev. James E. Curry, and the Rt. Rev. Dr. Laura Ahrens;activists on behalf of former Bishop Andrew Smith - have been a strong advocates for homosexual activism within the Church, and have led efforts to change the Book of Common Prayer to include inclusive language, as well as championing all sorts of Un-Christian teachings within the Diocese.  Recently, James Curry spoke at a Connecticut Judiciary Committee hearing, in favor of abolishing the death penalty, which on most days is seen as a encroachment on the separation of Church and State by liberal ACLU activists.  When it comes to Curry's outspoken service in Satan's name, there are few more disgraceful then he.

My criticism of the Anglican Communion is that they have watched this heretical activity unfold for well over a decade - and done nothing.  Much like our political climate, conservatives have always made the mistake of playing nice with the enemy:  Negotiate, Capitulate, and Surrender.  Liberals expect conservatives to take the high road (or any other road) while they keep a steady march toward their end-game.  Once ground is lost, it is rarely regained.  The Episcopal Church story is the single best example of how liberals scheme, infiltrate, take over and destroy a traditional institution.  Twenty years ago, conservatives wanted to give them a seat at the table to give the impression of being warm, fuzzy, and open.  Now there aren't many conservatives left in the Episcopal Church - those who are openly conservative are threatened with ridicule, and excommunication.  Many conservatives who remain (often too old to jump churches) simply grit their teeth, and shrink in their seats while they die a slow spiritual death - powerless to do anything about it.  Remember, it's a one way street - the liberal way, or you get railroaded out.

Conservatives remaining in the Anglican Community have their hands full.  Many of the local parishes (very late in the game) are trying to separate out from under jurisdiction of the Diocese of Connecticut, and other Dioceses; many are facing legal suits over the ownership of their buildings and their parishioners - which they can't afford.  As we have seen, liberals would rather shut down a conservative Anglican Church rather than simply cut its loses with dissatisfied parishioners.  If that doesn't show you the resolve of the enemy, then nothing else will.

There is good news, but not much.  There are jurisdictions where a more conservative-legal bent is siding with the renegade conservative churches.  Connecticut is unfortunately not one of these jurisdictions, and has shown itself to be in lockstep with liberal activism every step of the way.  Many Churches, including the Bishop Seabury Church and others have lost financial to the onslaught of funded-bias meant to destroy Anglican Orthodoxy and its tenements.  It is a high crime that will hopefully end with a road to perdition for some of the most evil individuals to ever step foot in a Church, let alone run one.

On the side of Christ and the Righteous, there have been few voices as loud, as strong, or as accurate as David Virtue.  David has been involved in calling attention to church-run heresy for over fifteen years through his online webpage and other publications.  He's helped coordinate resistance to the monsterous actions of the far left, and given traditional Christians a venue to be informed, speak, report news, organize, and pray.

If you haven't frequented http://www.virtueonline.org/ , I strongly recommend reading it.  David sent the following letter out his distribution. Its more than a plea for money, its a call to arms in the service of Christ against a relentless foe:

Dear VOL friend and supporter,

Liquid Modernity. In his new book, Zygmunt Bauman examines how we, as a culture, have moved away from a ”heavy” and “solid” hardware-focused modernity to a “light” and ”liquid”, software-based modernity.

The same might also be said for The Episcopal Church and much of the Anglican Communion today. We have moved from the solidity of the ancient Book of Common Prayer and a fixed Biblical (hardware-focused) understanding of human sexuality to multiple soft sexualities, designed to meet every form of sexual preference and need.

The Episcopal Church and the Anglican Church of Canada have rolled over to the cultural zeitgeist with devastating consequences. Thousands of Episcopalians and Anglicans are fleeing their parishes in the face of strong-arm liberalism and revisionism that strangles orthodoxy coupled with a faith they no longer recognize. It is a Tsunami-like tragedy few could have foretold. Families, parishes and whole dioceses have left TEC. More may yet follow as the silken ecclesiastical chord of conformity slowly chokes them to death.

The Anglican world, however, has its center of gravity in the Global South, and VOL is the only source the Global South accepts as totally reliable. VOL is playing an important role of returning Anglicanism to its Scriptural foundation.

Is there any hope here? Yes. Across North America there are green shoots of Anglican renewal, revival and reformation taking place. Barely a month goes by when a conference cannot be found taking place in states like South Carolina, Virginia, Ohio, Texas and California.

God is doing a new thing wherein His Holy Spirit will not be kept down or silent. Jesus, when confronted by the Pharisees who wanted to rebuke the disciples, said, “If they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”

VOL has been crying out about the state of The Episcopal Church for over 15 years. During this time new Anglican jurisdictions have formed. A new day of renewal and reformation has begun.

VOL is documenting every step of it. We travel to every plausible conference we can. We monitor The Episcopal Church by attending their press conferences and asking the hard questions. No stone is left unturned in an effort to find the truth and bring it to light.

But we need your help. VOL has over 4 million readers from 160 countries. They visit VOL’s website daily to read the latest news. A large number are in the Global South and cannot support us. You in North America and Europe can. Your support keeps them informed.

VOL’s budget is trivial when compared to modern newsrooms. We have reporters, a web master, a copy-editor and more to support. We can only do it with your help.

Please support VOL - your anti-propaganda news service. You can make a tax-deductible donation by check or through your credit card or donation at PAYPAL (http://www.virtueonline.org/donate.html). It is easy and quick, just hit the link and pick your option.

We are the mouse that roars day-in and day-out exposing the soft underbelly of TEC’s heterodox views. Please help us continue making it happen. Thank you.

Every blessing.

It's worth supporting the good work of Vitueonline.  There is hardly been a more consistent voice in the Anglican Communion over the last 15 years.  Let's make sure they continue for another Fifteen!

Coexist?

The other day, I was on my way to work taking my usual route when I happened upon a small red car driving 50 mph blocking the left lane of the highway bearing a bumper sticker depicting mostly religious symbols mixed with letters. Upon closer examination I saw that the letters spelled out the famed liberal keyword COEXIST.  I immediately laughed out loud at the thought that another mindless Connecticut liberal was in my way as I traveled onto my capitalist job in the City.

Speeding past this social-engineer, I couldn't help but think of the age-old, mesmerizing symbols and I began to wonder to which of these special interest groups the driver likely belonged.  I noted that the driver was a woman which wasn't necessarily revealing since lunatics from the far left tend to come from both sexes - either the famed masculine woman, or the feminine male, or freaks who might be a bit of both.  So was this woman a lesbian?  A Muslim?  A Jew?  Or just a crazy member of the United Church of Christ?  I guess I'll never know.

It's hard to coexist with suicide
bombers and jihadits
But one thing that we do know is that the contradictions on this bumper sticker are more than any scholar of religious studies could possibly handle.  If you look at the world through rose-colored glasses, I guess its really hard to see the truth. It's so much easier to pretend to see a world filled with happy diverse people all holding hands together, singing Kumbaya.

Of course, we all know the fact that religious and ethic coexistence (or even tolerance) in the form liberals suggest is nothing short of fantasy.  Take for example an actual real world scenario of how well Jews, Christians and Islamic Jihadits get along in the Middle East.  Week after week, we hear stories of Christian minorities in Egypt and Syria being torchered and killed as infidels in the name of Islam.  Of course that's nothing when you consider how Muslims have treated Jews for thousands of years up to the current day - through suicide bombing at weddings, and in public workplaces; endless attempts at genocide of those Israelis clinging to life on a 15 mile peninsula.  It's got to be very hard to coexist with people who want to wipe you out as an ethnic group.

And admittedly, perhaps the Holy Roman Empire's Crusades during the Middle Ages weren't exactly the most peaceful and righteous days for Christianity, but its minor compared to the rhetoric of today's Islamic Clerics calling on Muslims to rise up and kill Westerners in their own lands,  preaching in favor of honor killings, and pushing for the installation of Sharia Law on every continent.  There are few Buddhist or Christian compounds which recruit children and woman for suicide attacks on innocent Muslim civilians.  And where is the condemnation of Islam by Liberals?  There isn't one, only bumper stickers demanding we all just Coexist.

You have to wonder how liberals live with themselves.  Liberals preach that Islam is a religion of peace, and Arabs are victim to American Imperialism, meanwhile Muslim women are force-dressed in Burkas, brutalized, and humiliated hundreds of ways as outlined by Sharia Law.  Where are liberals standing up for woman's rights, or even basic human rights when it comes to Islamic outrages?  I guess hypocrisy only goes so far.

To the average person, the idea of coexisting with others means to leave everyone around you alone - live and let live - they say.  But in the age of political correctness we've seen Wiccans work to ban little school children from dressing up at Halloween as ghosts, witches, and comic book heroes because trick or treat is deemed offensive.  We've seen corporations bow to liberal lunatics and remove reference Christmas from holiday parties, store ad campaigns, and even sponsored charity signs on town greens.  And we see liberals defend an atheist Chinese government which maligns and kills Buddhists because advancing state run communism is more important to them than freedom of any religion.

What kills me is that even here at home we see the full court press by intolerant groups like the ACLU which fights to remove Christmas from our lexicon, God from our Pledge of Allegiance, and wages war against Christian's rights to preserve marriage as a union between a man and woman; instead launching lawsuits to advance the gay rights agenda to change the morally accepted principles as outlined in the Holy Bible; seeking to replace the Judeo-Christian values which this Nation was founded upon with a new secular free-for-all statism.  Coexist?

Funny how liberals wag their fingers and peddle their little social virtues around for all of us to follow.  But I guess from where I sit, I don't see where my friends and I are left alone to simply live and let live or - coexist.  So the next time you see a bumper sticker urging you to be tolerant or to coexist, feel free to give the driver the sign of tolerance they so rightfully deserve.

How Liberals Argue

www.thekingsview.blogspot.com

It's very hard to debate with some people.  It's not always the point of winning the argument as much as it is presenting the facts that support your position.  When it comes to some topics, abortion, for example - you may never get a person to concede their point of view in light of statistics, facts, or information because the argument (IMHO) is extremely emotional and personal for some.

However, there are plenty of topics where a rational person, using logic and the evidence presented, will examine the facts and see they are are not in dispute, and formulate a reasonable conclusion.  Rational thinkers can be swayed if the facts support sound judgement.  Irrational thinkers will not move off their positions.  It's nearly impossible to argue with someone who is not concerned with facts, and I often find that this occurs with people who tend to be either extreme, or simply hell-bent on being right.

The political season affords Republican thinkers the opportunity to go toe-to-toe with  emotional Democrats and frankly, its like mixing oil and water.  The video below shows a very typical argument between a conservative and a liberal.  You would not believe from my own experience how precise this illustration really is.  I particularly like the part where the liberal becomes so frustrated that she resort to insults, name calling, and fiction to support her arguments.
I tell my conservative friends all the time.  Do not bother arguing with liberals in a one on one scenario.  It is a waste of time and energy except when a neutral party is listening to you debate.  The only person you care about convincing that your positions are sound is the only the  person who you may have a chance to influence.

I laugh when people say Republicans and Democrats are largely the same.  That couldn't be farther from the truth.  Unfortunately, when it comes to results; spending federal money on frivolous nonsense, that has been known to be true. The lack of sticking to principle, is what lost Republicans control of the House of Representatives just a few years ago.  When you act against your own facts, you lose all ground to defend your arguments.

But issue for issue, pound for pound, Republicans and Democrats are generally on completely opposite sides of the equation.  Of course, you can't always get some people to act the way they know they aught to because its easier to do what's expedient than to do what is right. But that's a different topic for another day.

Check out the video below.  Have you ever had a similar argument with a liberal?

Whilst I ponder... the Episcopal Church's unfortunate Saga

I've been quiet over the past week contemplating specifics around my upcoming piece on the Episcopal Church, and it's current state of bitter turmoil.

I find the ongoing saga in the Church almost intolerable, particularly as it relates to the instigators and perverse activists, who are pushing their ridiculous pro-gay agenda on the vast majority of the Anglican Communion. They clearly don't care about the incredible harm they are causing - not to just thousands, but millions of Anglican parishioners around the globe. They seem to deem success by the level of destruction they cause to the existing institution - that in itself is a revealing fact. It shows that their agenda takes precedence over the institution. After all, they've chosen this Church - an established Church - to attack to make their points. Certainly, they could have started their own Church with their own doctrine with its own set of principles and ideals, but instead they intentionally chose to infiltrate and dismantle OUR Church. In their eyes, to decimate a long standing institution, is a victory of immense proportion.
Somewhere someone with the best of intentions felt overcome with compassion and pity, and opened the door to these agenda-driven activists. And like the Trojan Horse they entered quietly at first... and now they and their friends are running your church committees, parishes, and voting at the Episcopal Church conventions to reverse centuries of accepted doctrine. They are working tirelessly to undermine the very organization that provided them comfort and kindness.

It's amazing that blatant liberalism has crept into our institutions with such astounding success. But then again, perhaps not, since traditionalists tend to be on the lazy side when it comes to defending things such as traditional values and institutions. They expect things to be as they always were, and would rather stay above the frey instead of engaging in the debate. And that is the weakness that is exploited every time by the foes of civilization.

I understand that most people simply don't want to be bothered. Most people steer clear of controversy and argument. Successful people, who are generally traditional and conservative by nature, are too busy making money, living in traditional families, and doing the things that everyone aught to being doing. Whereas, liberals, freethinkers, and the like have plenty of time on their hands to waste. They are often in turmoil and self-doubt, and there are usually questions about the soundness of their state of mind. They are truly focused on "self" - as in "jealousy" of others who have [insert whatever they are missing here: love, job, house, opportunity, money, etc], while they have not. These people are hell-bent on turning right into wrong, and wrong into right in the name of alleged "social justice" or "fairness" and whatever justifying feel- good cliche they can think of.

Of course, the underlying quest is to make others believe that what is bizarre and unnatural is somehow normal and natural. The very notion of getting them to accept that there may be something wrong within their own psyche and behavior would be to get them to admit to abnormality, or worse - even mental sickness. Herein you can see the internal driver that propels these people to push their agenda to the limits - it's their own internal rage, and their need to feel justified in what they choose to do or how they choose to act.

The battle in the Episcopal Church is a prime example of this kind of behavior. In the end, the liberal activists want to blur the lines of right and wrong, and reduce sin to mere error so they can legitimize their own perverse actions as acceptable and normal. If everything is subjective, then there can be no standards, no rules, and no moral highgrounds. They want to reduce the Bible to a book of suggestions, turn God into a man-made creation so they can declare that God's teachings are not universal laws but rather human ideas no better than their own. And in their eyes, since God is man-made, and man is prone to mistakes and imperfections, then God is imperfect, and all notions of right and wrong are replaced with relativism. The Bible is therefore reduced to nothing more than a book of interesting tales with no merit, and with nothing to teach, and with no binding covenant.

So it's full circle for these liberal terrorists: Infiltrate, dismantle, destroy, and redefine.

And this is what those advocating homosexual unions are doing to the Episcopal Church, and perhaps even the Anglican Communion. And once they have won this battle, they will continue down the path toward total separation from God, leaving behind the institution in total ruin.

Note: Yes, the Episcopal Shield above is intentionally being printed upside down. In days of old (and as is still taught in Nautical Safety courses) when a flag is flown upside down, it's is a symbol of distress. Our Episcopal Church is clearly in a state of distress, and the emblem is therefore being printed as a symbol to reflect as such.
